You do not learn to be a leader, but you can learn to be innovative. The innovative entrepreneurship is not a genetic predisposition, not an innate characteristic in people is the set of five skills, five skills that can be studied and refined over time. That is the finding of research conducted by Dr. Jeffrey H. Dyer, professor of strategy at the BYU Marriott School of Business.
"The habits of the great innovative leaders are the foundation of their creative thinking," says Dyer. "The research we conducted shows that there are five major skills that distinguish entrepreneurs from others can be defined as innovative."
The five core competencies identified in the study of Dyer are:
Report: This cognitive skill is the backbone of the creative process. The report was triggered by the other four competencies identified by the research. And 'the ability to take two objects or two seemingly unrelated ideas and synthesize them to create a new innovation.
Questioning: to find the right answers, an innovative leader must possess the ability to ask the right questions, to think outside the box and accept all hazards and risks that will result.
